Dr. Travis G. Coan is a Professor in Computational Social Science at the University of Exeter. He is co-director of the Centre for Climate Communication and Data Science (C3DS). His core research examines questions in the areas of environmental and political communication.
Coan and team recently developed CARDS (Computer Assisted Recognition of Denial and Skepticism), an AI-driven framework that uses machine learning and Large Language Models (LLMs) to automatically detect, classify, and track climate change misinformation and contrarian claims online.
