From a Cornish dairy farming family, with a notable NFU career; incl. 2006-23 NFU South West/South Director. Retiring from the NFU at the end of 2025, Mel holds several board-level appointments incl. Chair GSW Food Security board. Awarded MBE for services to Gloucestershire’s rural community and animal welfare during the 2007 floods. She is also a Fellow of the Royal Agricultural Societies, and honorary business leadership fellow at the University of Exeter.
