Emily White is Chief Finance and Operations Officer at the Centre for Disaster Protection. She brings 20+ years of experience in disaster risk financing, across (re)insurance, capital markets, and international development. She has held senior roles at the World Bank, Lloyd’s of London and Flood Re. Emily has worked with country clients across Africa, Asia and the Pacific. She was instrumental in the growth of the World Bank’s Disaster Risk Financing and Insurance Program, and the establishment of its London Hub. Emily was also part of the team that launched Global Parametrics in 2018, and its first transaction for microfinance institutions across Africa and Asia. In the (re)insurance sector, Emily built the Climate and Catastrophe Risk practice at Flood Re. She also led the Lloyd’s Banking Group weather team, and was an Exposure Management Executive at Lloyd’s of London. She began her career in Catastrophe Bonds, where she worked on innovations such as the first parametric UK flood bond.
